3 media text that influenced me

Mean Girls.

Mean Girls

One 0f the main text in the media that influenced my title sequence was the film mean girls. This is because the film mean girls has the same concept of bullying people by the popular girls who they think are less superior and significant to them. Furthermore, its portrays and shows that whispering and being malicious to other people behind other people what have vital effects on their daily life.

Breakfast club

The film breakfast inspired my title sequence because during the title sequence of it, they included many location shots of their environment. which is very similar to our title sequence. Also, the rolling credits that appear at the beginning of the film is same to the high school of hell.(would appear in the location shots.)Cyberbully.

Cyberbully

The last media text that influenced my title sequence High School from hell is a film called cyberbully. One of the very first flash backs in our title sequence is the popular girls (Shaznay and Shaniqua) sending a mean text message to the bully victim (tom) but it sent as an anonymous person. This links to the film cyberbully as the victim (taylor) doesn't know who is sending those nasty text messages to her which is same as Tom from high school from hell.

Blogging feedback-3

At this stage there are 3 key and vital things that would help me upgrade and improve my work and will give me extra marks.

1. I should consider using a wider range of ICT for presenting my blog. Due to as I gave many typed post, I should be more creative and use visual methods to demonstrates what I am saying
2. I should post my pitch presentation
3, I need to post my draft and/or final storyboard.

We presented our pictures in a different technology called 'flickr'.
Flickr is the best online photo management and sharing application that would portray your images and videos in a different style.

Step by step:Editing

Editing

These are the stages we had to go through in the process of editing the opening sequence...

First we had to gather all the footage that we had filmed using the video drive (even the footage that we filmed more than one). Using final cut pro, we then went through every single footage and deleted the ones that weren't necessary and weren't going to be used. After, we put all the final footage that we were going to use together as a rough copy. We then realised that most of the footage was shaky and did not look professional. As a result we had to re-film some of the footage. We had to make sure that this time around the image was not shaky therefore we used a tripod.

The footage was much better the second time around as they weren't shaky and the footages moved seamlessly into one another. We also added more location shots to establish where Tom is from and where we were filming. The next blog post will be our rough copy, there is still a lot to be done such as adding title credits, sound and transitions.

How I have found editing so far

How have I found editing so far?

So far I have found editing to be the most stressful part of the process but also the most exciting because you get a rough idea of how everything is going to eventually turn out. We used a lot of different technologies in our editing of our title sequence but the three main are Garage Band, Final Cut Pro and Motion. Through using these different technologies we will be able to create a much more pleasing title sequence that should hopefully show off what we are trying to portray in our short but interesting titlw sequence

How I have found filming so far

How have I found filming so far?

So far I have found filming as a very enjoyable experience and have learnt a lot more through practical working than I thought I would. As a group we all worked really well the only slight problem we have was lack of communication which seemed to cause a few problems with attendance and punctuality, once we got started it became something we all really enjoyed. The only problem we had filming with the weather because the cold effected some of the shots we took and they came out shaky so in order to prevent that from happening we used a tripod and booked the equipment over the half term to finish off the finishing touches and get some establishing shots of our 3 main locations.

Half term filming- update

Half-term extention

Over the half term we had to film parts of our opening title sequence again due to some problems we found whilst editing our rough cut, one of he main reasons we found was the fact that a few of our shots from the first flashback where we first started filming were too shaky to use so we decided that it would be best for us to come in after the half term and book equipment to film that scene again but this time use a tripod to prevent the shakiness from occurring because of the cold which goes with the weather risk assessment we spoke about before and this is one of the ways we have hoped to prevent it from happening.

how ive found filming

Filming was good. We needed to re shot out first flashback which we do during the half term. We did come across some problems like people being late and the rain. Other then that Iit was great we got a lot done in the time we had, we also were able to discuss the music what would be playing during filming.

We needed to re shot due to the camera shaking so we re-shot and we got location shot which establish where the scene is happening. We did that for all 3 locations. So the school, park and estate. the first day of re shot went wrong due to one member of our team turning up to late and began to rain which would not have suited with the scene.

Day 3 of filming- Location

Location

On our third and what we believed to be our last day of filming we decided that in order to fit the stereotypes of secondary schools we had to at least get some shots of the actual school so that is what we did, we filmed the journey of the main character travelling from school all the way to his home estate which is shot in present day.

As his journey continues we're shown flashbacks of what he has had to deal with as a teenager at school and in our last scene we see the main character walk into a lift and turn showing the effects of the bullying he has been through. Our last scene was shot in an lift which came with some problems especially when it came to members of the public getting in our shot

Day 2 of filming- Location

Location

On our second day of filming we changed location to an estate where we filmed our second flashback scene, unfortunately due to the whether and certain risk assessments we had to take short breaks in between each of our scenes for the safety of the equipment

The reason we chose an estate as our second location was because we believed that it fit the stereotypes we were trying to portray, and we didn't need any permission to film there which made it easy on us and our time keeping and planning

The weather

The weather seemed to have a big impact with our filming. Due to it snowing on Tuesday we were unable to film as most of our filming was outside.  Because of this,we had our change our schedule around and now try filming most of the film on Thursday and Friday as we are running out of time to film. We have to make sure the weather conditions are good because we have to think of the risk involved such as the equipment getting wet or broken.

Furthermore, if the weather locations still remain bad then we have to find an alternative location such as filming indoors (such as someone's house or a building,) Also, we can prevent the weather ruining the equipment by using an umbrella to protect it so it wont get damaged.

How i found filming and editing so far

As a group we have just finished a rough cut of our title sequence. Of course there are improvements and developments to be still made. Such as using a tripod in all our shots to prevent shaky footage and including a copyright sound track that will make our title sequence more dramatic and memorable to watch.

The process to make our title sequence we had to go through several technology to improve and enhance the quality of our title sequence such as:

Moreover, I also found it changeling as many of the technology we have to include is new to me also the process of it all is quite time consuming. However, by all our effort it will help the final edit of our title sequence.
Nevertheless, I overall found the whole process of editing and filming enjoyable with my group as we leant various of new technology, filming and editing skills.

Experience on Garage band

As a pair we attempted to create a sound track for our title sequence by using garage band clip grabs. We first played around with the instruments on garage band and decided which instruments would be appropriate and suitable for our title sequence. We combined several instruments together on garage band like bass and drums to give a final products that we can later on add in to our title sequence.

After we chose the basic instruments that will be in the background of the song, we then chose a song that will match the plot of out title sequence. We downloaded the certain song by clip grab them imported it on Garage band. Afterwards we then merged and joined the two extract that will be included in the sound track together to create a final piece.

This is where we would post all the recent pictures and videos we take from filming and editing

Location Changes- Filming

Location Changes

Because of the short notice and the changes to our production schedule we were unable to film at our original location which was Mount Carmel, these changes happened because of the risk assessment with the weather and events we had no control over such as bus strikes. We're now filming in the same area not to far from Mount Carmel at a local park which we feel still gives off the appearance kf a High School Drama.

Furthermore, as a group we feel like our new location will give the final product a more dramatic and more edgy effect towards it as it really complements our main plot of the title sequence.
